Details	:	Content To facilitate business operation and optimize the use of professional and qualified human resources in the market, the Fire Services Department proposed to introduce a third-party fire safety certification scheme, namely Registered Fire Engineer ("RFE") Scheme. Under the Scheme, RFEs will be allowed to provide fire risk assessment and certification services, which are currently only offered by the FSD. With the benefit of comments received from the Bills Committee and from various stakeholders in previous consultations, a Code of Practice ("the Code") has been drafted for the purpose of providing practical guidance to RFEs on assessing fire risk, formulating fire safety requirements, conducting compliance inspection or testing, and issuing fire safety certificate. The Code has been uploaded to the FSD webpage (https://www.hkfsd.gov.hk/eng/fire_protection/rfes/) for the purpose of trade consultation scheduled for 22.12.2023 to 31.3.2024. As Building Surveyor is one of the key stakeholders of the Scheme, FSD is invited by the BSD to come conducting a briefing session for BSD members to explain the latest development of the scheme and the proposed frameworks so that BSD members could offer our views within the Consultation Period.
Remarks	:	[Rescheduled from 1 March 2024] Enrolment would be limited to the BSD Members with first-come-first-served with registration and payment of HK$150 exclusively for the HKIS administrative purpose. For Face-to-Face: Prior online registration is required. Walk-in registration will not be entertained. Eating and drinking is not allowed at the Surveyors Learning Centre. For ZOOM: The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. Upon successful registration, the ZOOM link for joining the CPD event will be available in the CPD/PQSL profile under the "Member Area" of the HKIS website. On-line registration is not applicable for non-HKIS members. To register, please complete the CPD registration form (https://www.hkis.org.hk/en/pdf/Standard_Reservation_Form2020.pdf) and return with payment to the HKIS Secretariat. Face-to-Face/Zoom	:

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
