The Concept of Rivers in the City: Site Visit to Jordan Valley’s Revitalisation Work
The PDD was honoured to have the Drainage Services Department (DSD) to lead its members on a tour of Jordan Valley Nullah on 9 July. Ir Ronald Siu, DSD Senior Engineer, explained how the relationship between the river and local community is enhanced by the introduction of revitalisation facilities for the water body and the greening, ecological, and sustainable elements in the project.

Echoing the "Rivers in the City" concept, Jordan Valley Nullah shows how to properly enhance biodiversity, green an existing concrete channel, and promote a water-friendly culture. Landscaping works have been incorporated into its downstream area with a viewing platform for public enjoyment. Appropriate plants with fish pools and ladders are located along the stream to re-create ecological habitats.
