Message from PFM Chairman (March 2011)

Quality Property and Facility Management Award 2010 25 March 2011 marked the flawless closing of the Quality Property and Facility Management Award (QPFMA) 2010. The Award Presentation Banquet, officiated by our Guest of Honour, Mr. Tsang Tak Shing, GBS, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs, was held successfully in the Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel Hong Kong at Tsimshatsui. Other honorary guests including Members of the Jury Panel, Presidents and Chairmen of various supporting organizations, award winning teams and more than 200 property and facility management professionals witnessed this wonderful and enjoyable event. The inauguration of QPFMA 2010 is jointly organized by the Property and Facility Management Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies. Through the QPFMA we aspire to honour outstanding projects in the property and facility management industry. Nominees shall be able to demonstrate significant achievements in areas of management, maintenance, cleaning, security, financial, environmental protection and value-added/ community services. The QPFMA objective, which is to stimulate greater public recognition for the industry, has been accomplished. The success was earmarked by the overwhelming response of nomination. Among the seven categories of property and facility, a total of 155 submissions were received in early December 2010. The Organizing Committee had selected thirty projects for arrangement of site visit in January 2011 and upon further scrutiny based on a list of stringent assessment criteria, a total of twenty-two projects were short-listed and invited to a CPD Conference held on 26 February 2011. Project teams had to present their submissions to a Jury Panel led by Mr. CK Au, the Director of Buildings. Finally, the following award winners received their awards in the Award Presentation Banquet of 25 March 2011. They have sacrificed tens of evening to enable the Award can be planned, budgeted and submissions assessed competently. I cannot afford not to thank for these members.
